The basic rules for using Story Bloom
Story Bloom is for adult account holders creating personal keepsake stories. By using the service, you agree to use it responsibly and only with content you have the right to use.
Story vs. book
A story is the digital project you make on Story Bloom — the manuscript, illustrations, and cover. A book is the physical hardcover Lulu prints and ships when you place a print order.
Who can use Story Bloom
Story Bloom requires adult account holders. If you use photos of a child, you must be the parent, guardian, or otherwise authorized to use those photos.
What you promise when you upload images
- You have the right to upload and use the images and text you share with us.
- You will not upload images of a person you do not have permission to use.
- You will not use Story Bloom to imitate, exploit, or harass a real person.
- You will keep your use private and personal unless you have the rights to do more.
What you cannot do
- Do not upload illegal, abusive, or exploitative content.
- Do not use Story Bloom to create sexualized content involving minors.
- Do not use celebrity or public-figure likenesses without the right to do so.
- Do not try to bypass limits, payments, or safety controls.
Tokens, prints, and reprints
- A token unlocks one story: the full set of illustrations, the cover, and the print-ready PDF files. Digital only — printed copies are a separate purchase.
- Printed copies are ordered separately, every time. We use Lulu Press to print and ship — you provide the shipping address at checkout.
- Order as many printed copies of a story as you like (for gifts, keepsakes, etc.). Each one is a separate paid order.
- Prices, included quantities, and product details can change over time. The price you see at checkout is what you pay for that order.
- Stripe processes payments. Lulu handles printing and shipping. Story Bloom is the customer of record for the print job and is your support contact for both.
AI-generated content is not guaranteed
Story Bloom uses AI to generate the manuscript and illustrations. AI output is not perfect — characters can look off-model, scenes can miss details, and prose can occasionally need a human touch-up. Because of this, we cannot guarantee any specific creative result.
We build the satisfaction guard-rails before you pay:
- A free sample story lets you see the finished story before creating your own custom character.
- Every new story gets three free preview images. These preview images are not print quality, but they give you a good sense of how the story is shaping up before you unlock it.
- An unlocked story includes a custom ai model trained on your character.
- An unlocked story includes a generous pool of image retries for alternates on any page.
- You can edit the story text, swap covers, and regenerate any page — then make print files and order.
No refunds. Because AI generation, printing, and shipping all incur real costs that we cannot recover, token purchases and print orders are non-refundable. If something goes wrong with the print itself (a manufacturing defect or a shipping mishap), email us and we'll work it out with Lulu.
Story files and print quality
You are responsible for reviewing your story before placing a print order. Once you click order, we send your interior PDF, cover PDF, and shipping address to Lulu and the order moves into production. We can't change the files after the order is placed.
Suspension and removal
We may limit, suspend, or remove access to stories or accounts that break these terms, put others at risk, or misuse the service.
